Step-by-Step MLS Setup Instructions for the system

The below instructions will walk you through setting up (a Paragon system) so that it will be able to "talk" to Spark. If you don't need help with the export setup and just want to know how to export data from your MLS then skip down to the "How to Export Your Properties" section below.

Creating the Spark Custom Export in
NOTE: The below instructions will set up your MLS to work with Spark for:
When you're ready to set up the export for other property types use the above drop-down to switch to those instructions.
Instructions for SFR and Condo Export Setup
We realize some of these instructions may seem odd but following them exactly is the best way to avoid some of the glitches in Paragon.
Click the Preferences option at the top, then click Reports in the menu that opens up.
In the screen that opens up click an Export option you don't mind changing (one you're not currently using).
At the top of this window in the Name field remove whatever is in that field and type in Spark.
At the top of this window, under the Class category click the drop-down and then change it to Residential.
Click Remove All in the center of screen between the two columns of fields.
Double-Click any one of the fields on the left to move it to the right (you can also single-click any field and then choose Add).
Click Save toward the top left.
In this next window, click the Spark report that you just made.
Just like before, at the top of this window, under the Class category click the drop-down and then change it to Residential.
Double-Click on each of the fields listed below in the left window of your MLS (you can also click on each one then click Add). Once you are done, the fields will appear in the list of fields on the right. This list is long but once it is set up you will never have to do it again. IMPORTANT: ALL fields listed below are required. DO NOT ADD EXTRA FIELDS & DO NOT LEAVE ANY OUT. ALSO IMPORTANT: If you see two of the same field name, only choose the first one (DO NOT choose both).

At the top of the window click on the Group drop-down that says Listing and change it to Feature Categories.
In the new list of fields that just appeared on the left, select each one (all of them) and move them ALL over to the right side.
Each field that you added to the list on the right has checkboxes. Make sure that all checkboxes are unchecked.
Now that the list is complete, click Save toward the top right and you are done!
NOTE: If you want the instructions for property types other than SFR and Condo, then when you're ready, click here and change the drop-down to the property type you want instructions for.
How to Export Your SFR and Condo Properties from
Verify that the search you are exporting includes the properties you want to load into Spark (and into your appraisal report).
Click Export then click Export to CSV.
Select the appropriate box for whether you want to export all listings in your search or just the selected results.
Choose Spark from the drop-down and then click Export.
Save the file by whichever file name and into whichever folder you prefer (depending on your browser settings you may not be given the option to choose the file name/location and that's okay, it probably just went into your Downloads folder - you can contact us for help with changing your browser settings).
