Step-by-Step MLS Setup Instructions for the system

The below instructions will walk you through setting up (a ConnectMLS system) so that it will be able to "talk" to Spark. If you don't need help with the export setup and just want to know how to export data from your MLS then skip down to the "How to Export Your Data" section below.

Creating the Spark Custom Export in
NOTE: The below instructions will set up your MLS to work with Spark for:
When you're ready to set up the export for other property types use the above drop-down to switch to those instructions.
Instructions for Residential Export Setup
Once you are in the ConnectMLS system, hover over Reports and click on Custom Reports.
Then click the Add New Report button.
Verify that for Property Type you select Residential.
In the Report Name box type in Spark.
In the lower left column of fields, click the very top field.
Then scroll down to the bottom of that list.
Hold down the Shift key on your keyboard and then click the very bottom field in that list. This will select every field in the entire list.
Release the Shift key.
Click the right arrow button (->). This will move all of those fields from the left column to the right column.
IMPORTANT: In the right-side column select Directions then click the left arrow button (<-) to remove it.
IMPORTANT: Repeat the above step to also remove Private Remarks, Proximity, Public Remarks, and Tax Legal Description.
Click the Tab titled Names at the top.
Now, click the checkbox next to Long Name.
Click Save at the bottom.
That's it! You're done with the setup for Residential properties and Spark is now available as an export option when you're ready to send your data to Spark.
NOTE: If you want the instructions for property types other than Residential, then when you're ready, click here and change the drop-down to the property type you want instructions for.
How to Export Your Residential Properties from
Verify that the search you are exporting includes the properties you want to load into Spark (and into your appraisal report).
Once you are in the results screen of your search, click the Download button (sometimes looks like a picture of a folder with a down arrow in it).
Verify that the listings you want to import are selected and verify that All selected listings is chosen (or just download all if applicable).
Click the drop-down box on the Get all fields in this report line and choose Spark then click Next.
In File format verify that Tab-delimited text is chosen and then click Next.
Save the file by whichever file name and into whichever folder you prefer (depending on your browser settings you may not be given the option to choose the file name/location and that's okay, it probably just went into your Downloads folder - you can contact us for help with changing your browser settings).
Instructions for Attached Single Property Export Setup
Once you are in the ConnectMLS system, hover over Reports and click on Custom Reports.
Then click Add New report.
Verify that for Property Type you select Attached Single.
In the Report Name box type in Spark Attached.
In the lower left column of fields, click the very top field.
Then scroll down to the bottom of that list.
Hold down the Shift key on your keyboard and then click the very bottom field in that list. This will select every field in the entire list.
Release the Shift key.
Click the right arrow button (->). This will move all of those fields from the left column to the right column.
Click Save at the bottom.
That's it! You're done with the setup and Spark is now available as an export option when you're ready to send your data to Spark.
NOTE: If you want the instructions for property types other than Attached Single, then when you're ready, click here and change the drop-down to the property type you want instructions for.
How to Export Attached Single Properties from
Verify that the search you are exporting includes the properties you want to load into Spark (and into your appraisal report).

Instructions for Residential Rental Property Export Setup

Then click Add New report.
Verify that for Property Type you select Residential Rental.
In the Report Name box type in Spark Rental.
In the lower left column of fields, click the very top field.
Then scroll down to the bottom of that list.
Hold down the Shift key on your keyboard and then click the very bottom field in that list. This will select every field in the entire list.
Release the Shift key.
Click the right arrow button (->). This will move all of those fields from the left column to the right column.
Click Save at the bottom.
That's it! You're done with the setup and Spark is now available as an export option when you're ready to send your data to Spark.
NOTE: If you want the instructions for other property types other than Residential Rental, then when you're ready, click here and change the drop-down to the property type you want instructions for.
How to Export Your Residential Rental Properties from

IMPORTANT: In the right-side column select Directions then click the left arrow button (<-) to remove it.
