Step-by-Step MLS Setup Instructions for the system

The below instructions will walk you through setting up (The MLS - a Vesta Plus system) so that it will be able to "talk" to Spark. If you don't need help with the export setup and just want to know how to export data from your MLS then skip down to the "How to Export Your Data" section below.

Creating the Spark Custom Export in
NOTE: The below instructions will set up your MLS to work with Spark for:
When you're ready to set up the export for other property types use the above drop-down to switch to those instructions.
Instructions for SFR Export Setup
First, get into the results screen of a single-family search.
At the top right of the results screen click One Line then, in the drop-down menu that appears, click ONE LINE BUILDER (it's the blue button at the bottom of that menu).
Click the Create New button in the screen that pops up.
At the top of the page that comes up, next to Report name type in Spark.
Now, click the check box immediately to the left of the Search available columns box. This will automatically put a check box next to each field on the left.
Click Add which is the button between the left and right columns.
Click the Save button.
That's it! You're done with the setup and Spark is now available as an export option when you're ready to send your data to Spark.
NOTE: If you want the instructions for property types other than SFR, then when you're ready, click here and change the drop-down to the property type you want instructions for.
How to Export Your SFR Properties from
Verify that the search you are exporting includes the properties you want to load into Spark (and into your appraisal report).
Click the green Export button toward the top right.
In the new window that opens up, select Spark from the top drop-down box.
**IMPORTANT: On the next line titled Export file as be sure and choose csv.
Click the green Export button.
Save the file by whichever file name and into whichever folder you prefer (depending on your browser settings you may not be given the option to choose the file name/location and that's okay, it probably just went into your Downloads folder - you can contact us for help with changing your browser settings).
First, get into the results screen of a manufactured home search.
At the top of the results screen click Settings (Gear icon) then, in the One Line Report section in the screen that comes up, click Create a custom 1-line report.
Click the Create New button in the screen that pops up.
At the top of the page that comes up, next to Report name type in Spark.
Now, click the check box immediately to the left of the Search available columns box. This will automatically put a check box next to each field on the left.
Click Add which is the button between the left and right columns.
Click the Save button.
That's it! You're done with the setup and Spark is now available as an export option when you're ready to send your data to Spark.
NOTE: If you want the instructions for property types other than Manufactured, then when you're ready, click here and change the drop-down to the property type you want instructions for.
How to Export Your Manufactured Home Properties from
Verify that the search you are exporting includes the properties you want to load into Spark (and into your appraisal report).

In the new window that opens up, select Spark from the top drop-down box.
**IMPORTANT: On the next line titled Export file as be sure and choose csv.
Click the green Export button.

How to Export Condo Properties from
Verify that the search you are exporting includes the properties you want to load into Spark (and into your appraisal report).
Click the green Export button toward the top right.
In the new window that opens up, select Spark Condo from the top drop-down box.
**IMPORTANT: On the next line titled Export file as be sure and choose csv.
Click the green Export button.
Save the file by whichever file name and into whichever folder you prefer (depending on your browser settings you may not be given the option to choose the file name/location and that's okay, it probably just went into your Downloads folder - you can contact us for help with changing your browser settings).

How to Export Your Rental Properties from
Verify that the search you are exporting includes the properties you want to load into Spark (and into your appraisal report).
Click the green Export button toward the top right.
In the new window that opens up, select Spark Rental from the top drop-down box.
**IMPORTANT: On the next line titled Export file as be sure and choose csv.
Click the green Export button.
Save the file by whichever file name and into whichever folder you prefer (depending on your browser settings you may not be given the option to choose the file name/location and that's okay, it probably just went into your Downloads folder - you can contact us for help with changing your browser settings).
Instructions for Multi-Family Property Export Setup

How to Export Your Multi-Family Properties from
Verify that the search you are exporting includes the properties you want to load into Spark (and into your appraisal report).
Click the green Export button toward the top right.
In the new window that opens up, select Spark Multifamily from the top drop-down box.
**IMPORTANT: On the next line titled Export file as be sure and choose csv.
Click the green Export button.

IMPORTANT FOR MULTI-FAMILY: Spark will work with multi-family forms, however, your MLS does not allow exporting of all of the necessary multi-family data. As a result, Spark will load in as much as it can but some fields will have no information. If and when your MLS provides data for the rest of the fields, we will update accordingly. NOTE: Be sure to choose a multi-family form in Spark!
